Misty Miller

Necessity lead us to a new member in our family....a grey wonder we affectionately call, Misty Miller (name given by the girls).

Our beloved Previa, Bowie decided that enough is enough.  Her brakes failed in one of our trips to the flower market, sending me and the girls straight to the center median, blowing up one of her already weak tires. Admiting that it's time to give her up was bittersweet for me since I know that these vans are virtually indestructible as long we can take care of it but Mo did not like her from the beginning and he refuses to fix her many little quirks and needed repairs.  Mom gifted her to us after realizing that my growing girls and I really need a van for our adventures and of course, service so perhaps that also contributed to Mo's distaste of her (he doesn't like it when my Mom overides him in the decision making processes which she did in this case).  At any rate, she was not going to be operable without major repairs and frankly, that will not be practical at this point.  So, with a heavy heart, I called Kars for Kids and bid the ole girl goodbye. This of course, is nothing compared to learning that we will be moving soon from our home of 15 years but the two together made it a very tough year for our family.

Fortunately, Jehovah always had our backs. You can say that our Misty came to us by divine providence.  It seems cliche' but she was definitely a blessing since it was very unlikely that we would get her.  With our bankruptcy still blemishing our records and our-credit scores still in the dumps, there was no way we could have been pre-approve for a large auto loan.  But we knew we didn't have a choice so we left it in Jehovah's hands and we did get approve and with a great 4.2% rate at that!

Shopping for a van is a different story of course since most dealers would not even give your pre-approval a second look.  We wanted a Sienna but alas that was not meant to be.  Then, Mo decided to check out the Honda lot across the street.  An hour wait later, he was apparently dealing and wheeling already and sure enough, we got out of there with a three year old Odyssey, basic but having the most important feature that I insisted she should have....8 passenger leather seats!  Everything else was just pure luxury for us so it's great when it's there but if not, it's ok too.

So, after more of Jehovah's hand in the matter....our pre-approval was increased to what we needed without change in our interest rate, we were able to drive our new baby home!

Welcome to the family Misty!!!  It was a long time coming but you were definitely worth the wait!
