Let's Stay Outdoors!

Today, despite the cold start (in the high 30's this morning) the sun did come out and blessed us with a warm afternoon that's meant to be enjoyed.  So, we left home and forgot the chores for the day so we can follow the sun.

First, Ickey and I walked to our neighborhood library to grab a copy of movie she was looking for. We had enough time to enjoy the walk back and timed it just right to pick up her big sister from school. Then we had our usual treat at Sweet Tomatoes for lunch which is fast becoming a weekly lunch date for us thanks to great coupons.  We lingered a little bit while trying to decide what we could do for the rest of the afternoon trying to find close, cost effective ways to enjoy the day.  At first, I though about dragging the girls to H&M to grab a few more long sleeve shirts since we utilize a lot of them this season, layering two at a time but that's not exactly being outdoors so instead we opted to go to the park.  Our fave park is unfortunately not an option.  We had some rain earlier this week so it will be wet and muddy and I don't feel like spending the remainder of the day cleaning up for that so we went to a park that the girls and I have not been in but I know had the rubber surfaces instead of the usual sand or mulch.

The girls got to enjoy another modern park structure as well as ride their bikes around the playground since a bike path is designed right in.  It's a good alternative if we wanted a smaller park to let the girls practice their biking without being overwhelmed or riding long distances.  There was even a small pine tree to climb!

By the time we got back home, the girls were tired and ready to chill but we were happy to have enjoyed another pretty day outdoors before the next reminder of winter comes later this week.
