Playground Tour #4 - Castro Valley Community Park

We finally had a chance to visit another park on our playground tour plan for this summer.  After unsuccessfully completing our library activity today (Yogi Bear movie) due to one hungry little girl (Ickey) who was more interested in the popcorn of our fellow movie watchers than the movie itself.  We ventured out to find lunch and ease one very annoyed mom.  After re-evaluating the situation and figuring it's partly my fault for going there without having lunch yet,  I hurriedly salvage the day with a great lunch at Rigatoni's....

And then, shared an old fashioned sundae for desert at Loard's Ice Cream.....

I was great to have a mini date with the girls and now that our moods have lightened once again, it's time to continue on with our day and since we were in the area, I figured I'll let the girls burn off their sundae sugar at our next playground tour....

#4  Castro Valley Community Park

I found this through Yelp again and you got to see it to believe it!!!!  Amazing!!!

It starts off as a regular park but with four different structures for different age groups.  There is also a big sand pit which is not often found in many playgrounds anymore and this one has two - one accessible to all and then you'll see another one in the infant section of the park surrounding their play structure. Afterwards, it just stands out completely.....

Talk about the unexpected but absolutely genius!!!  Their water feature only operates in summertime of course but it's a great addition to this already impressive park.

The girls were beside themselves of course but unfortunately the weather was not exactly warm enough to enjoy this for a prolonged period so Mer gave up quickly and enjoyed the rest of the park while we waited for Ickey to have enough water fun as well.

Other great park features include: the rock "wall", a short zip line, picnic areas all over the place and of course the modern play structures.  The one minus - restrooms were a bit far from the play area, walking distance but they still should think about adding one to the buildings surrounding the playground instead.

Another awesome summer day and another great playground to cross off our list!
