Learning the Native Tongue

Our weekend did not turn out as busy as we've planned since we overslept on Saturday and ended up staying home for the most part.  So Sunday was sort of a make up day but I still wish we could have done so much more.

Meetings are as usual scheduled later in the afternoon but starting last week it included a special treat for my girls.  One of the advantage of being in a foreign language congregation is that everything is conducted in our home language, Tagalog (Filipino).  My girls are English speakers but understands the language very well.  Still, I would love for them to speak it as well and our new group is providing us with help in that regard.  After our meetings in Sunday, they get to participate in a Tagalog class (15-30 minutes).  It's a fun learning environment that they are liking very much and hopefully over time they will be pretty versed in speaking it as well....what a wonderful gift indeed!
